Yay this gives me an opportunity to post a couple of my favorite pics of Gary Cooper from Wolf Song (1929). He is about to bathe in the river just before going to a dance with Lupe Velez.

Those Cooper shots are very remeniscent of Charkes Farrell's bathing scene in Borzages "The River" of the same year, 1929. I wonder which film came first?

I think it's one of those gawdawful fabric lampshades. My goodness, it certainly fits right in with the general weirdness of the photo, doesn't it?

The River premiered first (New York, 22 December 1928), but it didn't go into general release for another 10 months so most people probably saw The Wolf Song first—it opened in February 1929 and was released on 30 March.
