JEANNE EAGLES (1957) with Kim Novak A Bio Pic?

:o Anybody record this the other day on TCM? The film is so heavily fictionalized. Jeanne Eagels never worked as a Hoochi-Coohie Dancer in a Side-Show I'm pretty sure. Nor was she pinched for "Indecent Exposure." She did not make a Civil War drama with what appears to be an unnamed John Gilbert. I don't think she ever sang in a film either? Yet we see Kim Novak singing in the clip from a film Eagels never made at the end of the picture. What was that about?

The music used during the staging of the scene from RAIN is just hilarious. What is that melody anyway? Overtly Sexy to a fault. And she talks and acts like she is ready to devour any good looking man in sight who crosses her path. No wonder that preacher dropped his Bible! Bad, Bad, Sadie Thompson!

You are quite right in your condemnation of this dogroll of a movie. I fell in love with Jean E. after getting a copy of the LETTER and watching her extraordinary performance. I began reading everything I could about her and finally got a copy of the Kim N. movie in a trade.
