Re: OBITUARIES
This is off-topic, but please indulge me briefly. Today we lost Uncle Lionel Batiste, the octaganarian bass drummer for the Treme Brass Band. An icon to all who love traditional New Orleans music, and to call him eccentric and one-of-a-kind is insufficient. He's just the type of guy who should appeal to a lot of Nitrarevillains who also love older music, which is probably everyone. The internet is teeming with obits and photos. Thank you for time. I felt a spiritual connection between what he did and what we do.

Re: LARRY HAGMAN Has Died
In the mid-1980s I was crossing 44th Street in midtown Manhattan, and heard crowd murmurs that suggested a celebrity was in our midst. (“Hey, check it out! . . . Look who’s coming!”) A tall middle-aged man was approaching, chatting with an older lady, who was holding his arm. For a moment I thought she was Maureen Stapleton; then I looked at the man, and instantly recognized Larry Hagman. He was taking a stroll with his mother, Mary Martin. The crowd parted for them, and even jaded New Yorkers grinned as they went by.
I’ve spotted a few celebrities in public places over the years, but this double celebrity sighting is an especially pleasant memory.
