Fred Astaire is in my top five performers of all time. His finest cinematic hours are TOP HAT and EASTER PARADE. In fact, I'm of the opinion that EASTER PARADE is the finest film musical ever made, as opposed to that Gene Kelly movie of which you may have heard...

Has anyone read the new book on Fred and Adele Astaire? Reviews have been pretty good.

I really enjoy Fred's 1930's recordings, but the box set and single CDs issued by CBS/Sony always sound overly filtered. Anyone have the Naxos series?

Try this. Past Perfect's restoration quality is excellent, without funky filtering.
