"Kiki" at Amazon an OK Presentation?

Post by odinthor » Mon Jan 14, 2013 11:52 pm

Has anyone viewed the Pickford Kiki DVD which is available from Amazon? I've only experienced a poor and blurry print from another source which sounds as if one were listening to it through a heavy rain . . . but nevertheless enjoyed the show enormously. The principals were all splendid--the comic abilities of both Miss Pickford and Reginald Denny are, I think, underappreciated--the writing is brisk, the direction and camerawork are fine, and so I'd like to enjoy the show in a fuller representation of its glory. There aren't any reviews yet on the Amazon offering, which seems to have been first offered last year.

This is definitely a bootleg version, transferred either from a 16mm print or a VHS tape. There is a seller selling these on eBay also, falsely claiming that this title is public domain. Milestone Films and the Pickford Trust are the only authorized sources, and when they do release it, the quality will be excellent like the recent Pickford BluRay just released.
