Have you funded any Kickstarter projects involving classic films? What persuaded you to donate, even at a $10 level? Were the ones you supported funded?
Have you run any successful KS campaigns yourself? How did you find donors other than through Facebook?
I developed "The Edgar Kennedy Restoration Project" over six months on Facebook and took it to Kickstarter to seek funding for a pilot episode, but misjudged interest or something...? I would welcome any feedback after you look at http://kck.st/19g2l0y" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank. Too ambitious? Goal not clear? Not transparent? Insufficient credentials for undertaking such a project? No one has any money? The government shutdown scared everyone? No one really wants to see Edgar Kennedy's 103 RKO shorts?
Your Kickstarter experiences may give valuable tips to others who are considering film restoration projects.
Vintage Film Projects on Kickstarter
Re: Vintage Film Projects on Kickstarter
Yes, two successfully-funded Kickstarter projects: "Accidentally Preserved" and "The Mishaps of Musty Suffer". Happy to answer questions, if may be of any help. Please send me PM or better yet email me via my website.

Re: Vintage Film Projects on Kickstarter
I am a Kickstarter junkie, and would definitely back a vintage film project if it struck my fancy.
When I back something, I want a physical copy of something, and the book/DVD/game can't be too astronomically priced or I won't back it.
For obscure* projects related to vintage films, I think the biggest challenge will be getting the word out to potential backers. I follow Nitrateville religously, and a few film blogs somewhat, but other than those places I am not sure how I would hear of projects like yours.
Good luck if you make another go of it.
*Obscure isn't quite the word I am looking for, and no offense is meant. Maybe I should have gone with non-mainstream.

I am not a purist, I am a funist!

I donated to Tom Hamilton's worthy documentary on Leslie Howard, but the funding never seems to be enough..... Hidden fees? I have no idea.
