Good Gary Cooper bio? Nope. Need one? Yep.

Is there a really good biography or filmography out there on Gary Cooper? The more recent Jeffrey Meyers book is somewhat wanting, and while Maria Cooper Janis' (daughters') books are beautiful photo books, they don't reveal so much about the , nor his films. I've not seen the Homer Dickens book on his filmography.

I thought Gary Cooper had faded away, and believed there was no longer room for Cooper and John Wayne both, as hero icons, but ebay indicates Coop's stuff still has a lot of interest. Maybe its because Cooper died at about 60, just as he was fading into old age, and his image is fixed as a younger man.

Well, Irving Berlin did write that Cooper was: "super duper." (: ).

A lot of women said the same thing after spending some quality time with him.
