Copied from most recent issue of the Vitaphone News (although it was reported in 1993):
A 16mm home vitaphone system.
I'm posting the pics because it looks so awesome, and still in relatively good condition too. Looks like the record is supposed to play back vertically. Love the tube amplifier.

Spiny, we put it in our latest Vitaphone News because the owner, Gary Lacher, had this exhibit of his home talkie collection at the Association of Moving Image Archivists a few months ago. He acquired the projector and about 30 home talkie films (mainly Pathe musical shorts, comedies and Aesop's Fables) c. 1993, but these are such great recent pictures of his collection that we wanted to share them.

Simply gorgeous. Real craftsmanship. But it looks like a bugger to dust!

Accessible "Home Talkies" equipment is a fascinating little niche in pre-video history. Here's an example from my own childhood:

I remember the Kenner projector very fondly from my childhood as well. I have one of the largest collection of Flintstones memorabilia in the country and this projector is definitely a part of it.
