Produced by the US Army Signal Corps as a training film for soldiers before they were discharged, "Don't Be a Sucker" was picked up by Paramount in 1946 and distributed free of charge to theatres for its timely message of inclusion and acceptance. Co-directed by Lewis Seiler and Clyde De Vinna, it features performances by classic Hollywood actors Paul Lukas, Felix Bressart, George E. Stone, George Chandler, Martin Kosleck, Kurt Krueger, and Ivan Thiesault.

A nicely researched, written, and illustrated history of the film.
It's fun to see one of the prime suckers being played- early in his career, squeezed in between his Laurel and Hardy films-by Bob Bailey, whose greatest fame was to come on radio, playing someone considerably sharper. It's a feeling somewhat akin to watching Humphrey Bogart- later, film's cynical tough guy- playing the sucker in Black Legion .
