MGM photo code 295?

Post by cawkercitykid » Mon Dec 19, 2011 7:39 pm

I can't fingure out what film corresponds to MGM photo code number 295. It must be a western. The closest number I can find for certain is 293 which was for "The Crowd" which was released in March of 1928. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Merry Christmas one and all ! :D

Thanks! I'm trying to figure out if a photo is mislabeled or not. It is a publicity photo that someone has identified as being Claire Windsor on the set of this film. But I have never seen this photo before and can't figure out why it would have been taken if Claire was not in the movie. The lady to the right of "Claire" looks possibly like Maria Dressler but also a lot like Claire's real mother Rosella Cronk.

Is there an online list of MGM photo code numbers somewhere? I only have a partial list to use for reference.

Thanks again.

Claire could have been visiting the set. Off-camera photos are always great, because people you would never expect to be on a film set turn up, from political leaders, to celebrities, to religious officials. And that's not Marie Dressler in the glasses.

Ok, I got it figured out. She was shooting "The Frontiersman" (the movie I expected) with Tim McCoy at the same time he was shooting "California." Claire's hair looks so matted, because she wore a wig with long curles in "The Frontiersman." Claire and Tim McCoy followed "The Frontierman" with "Foreign Devils." The older woman to the right of Claire is her mother, Rosella Cronk, but the young man on the far right is too old to be her son Billy who would have only been 13.
