Storage or Archive locations

Post by hkellogg » Sat Jul 02, 2011 11:02 am

I am interested in any places in Michigan or Indiana that house or store Nitrate films. I believe Wayne State University has such a facility. Does anyone know of any others?

thanks

Wayne State has no such facility. This article explains they only have a small amount of nitrate material that they keep cold, and they are working to remove the material.

Apparently, Detroit has a vacant building designed to store nitrate, but is unoccupied at the moment.

I found a place in Maine that will rent space to individuals:

and there are places in Hollywood as well.

Yes the vault at Northeast Historic Films is huge and a real find. I toured it a month or so ago. Contact David Weiss.
