Images from rare 28mm prints

Hi All,
I've posted some images from two rare 1910s Bobby Bumps cartoons, produced by the Bray Studios.
These two films were recently transferred to video and you can see a bit of what the results look like.

I never realized 28mm was introduced so early in our film history. By 1912 and some far-sighted folks were already looking at the possibilities of a home movie market. I always assumed that area developed later in the 1920's.
Tom, when you write about "a hoard of 28mm films were found and sold on the public market last year", am I to assume that you and a squadron of like-minded silent toon fanatics swooped in and bought as much as possible?

Gary: That's more or less correct. I, with the help of a close friend and film historian colleague, purchased all the animation in the collection. There were about 200 or more reels in the entire collection; about 40 of which were animation. It cost an arm and a leg!
