Harold Lloyd, Jr.

Post by drednm » Mon Sep 12, 2011 7:06 pm

I had never even heard of him but watched the 1953 film, The Flaming Urge, supposedly a 50's "code" for gay, but the film made zero sense even as a pyromania film. Lloyd, a skinny 22-year-old showed flashes of his father in looks, voice, movements, but didn't show much talent. As a subtext "gay" film this was a total washout. Florence Lake, Byron Foulger, Pierre Watkin, Jonathan Hale are all ok but Cathy Downs gives a hideous performance. Lloyd was likable but seemed to have no idea what was going on.

Has anyone seen this>

I have not seen "The Flaming Urge", but Harold Lloyd Jr. was also in FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER, directed by Richard Cunha.
