Did anyone ever see this weird sci-fi "spy" type episode?

I remember a friend of mine and I talking about a show we separately saw on TV.
It must have been around 1971. There were these people who had a briefcase
with some kind of weird extra-terrestrial substance or thing in it. They
forced a guy to eat it. They seemed like they were in some kind of
cult or were aliens. That's all I remember. Weird, but I would love to
know what show this was.

I think you may be referring to THE INVADERS. They forced the guys face into the case.

of kids used to Lost in Space. Now I'll get to see it again.
