This is regarding Kino's DVD edition "Dr. Mabuse, The Gambler", which has almost an hour more footage than the Image DVD edition. I'm curious to see if anyone has a list of descriptions of all those added scenes and where they are in the restored film.
I notice Kino made a "newly inserted scenes" PDF file for "Metropolis" here :
http://www.kino.com/metropolis/restoration.html#rest" target="_blank" target="_blank . That's the kind of thing I would like to have for Dr. Mabuse. A while back Kino also had a similar list for its DVD edition of "Diary of a Lost Girl", which has alternate shots compared to its VHS edition.
So I asked Kino if they had done the same for "Dr. Mabuse", but they said they hadn't.
I'm studying this film and I notice the new scenes/shots have been sprinkled all over the film, and some of them make subtle but important impact to the storytelling. A list of all the added/revised scenes would be very helpful. If not, it's OK, and I'll just make my own.
"Dr Mabuse, The Gambler" - list of inserted/revised scenes?

The two biggest additions are: 1. the lecture scene near the beginning where we see first see Mabuse in his public persona, and 2: the scene in the hotel where Mabuse fools Wenck by putting a pair of women's shoes outside his room door.
If I'm not mistaken the rest are little bits and pieces. I think the Kino version might run slightly slower as well.
