Craig's Wife (1928)?

Post by Danny » Sun Jan 01, 2012 11:39 am

Being a fan of HARRIET CRAIG (1950), but not so much of the 1936 CRAIG'S WIFE, I was interested to hear that there was also a silent version. The information I found is that the silent version is "probably lost". My question is: does it indeed exist and has anyone seen it?

Seems to be lost. It was directed by William deMille and the original reviews were excellent.

It starred Irene Rich, an excellent actress with too few of her silent starring roles extant (though a fair number of supporting ones). This is on my most wanted list!

I'm afraid it's gone, unless a copy turns up in an archive stash. Pathe Exchange released this one and it's on Arne Andersen's Lost Film list for the Pathe Exchange Company's 1928 releases. This was based on a Broadway play.

quite a popular 1925 play, 360 performances
