Maybe someday TCM will no longer feel the need to begin each description of an early film with, "In this silent film..." I mean they don't say, "In this black-and-white film..." or "In this monaural film..." TCM, we kid because we love.

That's true; but I'd prefer to have been spared Maltin's "dated curio" slur on Temptress.

Do we really need "In this Silent Film" for SILENT Sunday Nights?
It is from the 1920s, & it is for the LONG RUNNING series (SSN). I would assume it was silent.

When they should denote is when theybreak from their normal series for Oscar Month or Summer Under The Stars.
In Feb & August, the Sunday night midnight slot could have descriptions starting as......
"In this regretable & unnecessarily chatty talkie................"
Agnes McFadden

I know it's good - I wrote it myself!

:? They seem to be running J'ACCUSE and LA ROUE again as sort of a tie in tribute to Abel Gance, with the NAPOLEON screenings in Oakland. Seems like both were just on not that long ago. I really can't stomach LA ROUE. J'ACCUSE is OK, but no favorite either.

This weeks feature THE FLYING FLEET only exists in an odd foreign edit loaded with second camera close-up's. They have tried to synch it to the surviving domestic version sound discs with limited success. I think I asked this question before, some time back, but can anyone name all the actresses pinned up in Ramon Novarro's and Ralph Graves locker in the opening sequence of this picture?

Sure those were actresses on Ramon's side of the locker?

:) Actually there are two lockers. But yes, they are both plastered with girls. Certainly not pics of Julian Eltinge!
