Milestone's New Website

Post by milefilms » Mon Mar 26, 2012 2:20 pm

Milestone's new website is up so you can see the new covers for Cut to the Chase and Mary Pickford -- but more important, we lowered prices and shipping costs and we're about to have a sale this week! Check for emails from us with the coupon code.

Pretty spiffy and sleek, Dennis. I like the clean lines and obvious links to where I want to go.

I've got some Milestone discs I need to buy, so I will be shopping soon!

Site looks great! Price on the Pickford collection a little prohibitive for me though. Any chance the films will be available individually at some point?

The new site does indeed look fabulous, and I love that it switches to mobile-friendly format automatically on my beloved iPhone. That'll make it much easier to order Milestone releases on the bus to work. :-)

By the by, here's an actual link to said website...

Why are some of these DVD's priced at $250 and higher?
Will they be hand delivered to you on a silken pillow by a beautiful man or woman of your choice?
If so, I'd totally rebuy The Cook. :D

Institutional pricing (I already asked...suspecting that the high price meant that Donald or I would be contracted to play for the DVD at your house).

Hmmm. Sorry, Ben. But if the Mets can rent out Mr. Met... I think we've already lined you up to play for the O'Shaunessy wedding with The Merry Widow.

But if it makes you feel better, Donald has to play for a briss next weekend for the Goldbergs ... Thankfully, the film won't be a rough cut. :D

Yes, some of the films we have out-of-print are for institutional purchase only. But that's on the concept that if we get a sale or two to the colleges/libraries, we can afford to print home DVDs for purchase. Stay tuned...

I was excited to see the Charley Chase set now available, but saddened by the price. I hope that it gets a home release as well. Regardless, I purchased the Windsor McCay collection finally, I've been eyeing it for a while now. Is the cover of the McCay set redesigned?

The site does look much improved by the way, great job!

If "The" Donald were to show up at my house to play piano, now....

I think we'll be able to bring out Chase at the same time as Pickford. No promises, but I promise to work hard on it.

As for McCay, that is a redesign by the same person who designed the Chase box -- our summer intern Adrian. He's pretty incredible.

You won't get that til RHI puts out a Chase set. I think it's more like to show up from Germany.

Congrats on the redesigned website, it looks terrific. For me the big surprise is MY BEST GIRL for $19.99. Amazon has been selling it for for 3-4 times that price for a long time now.

It's available on one of the Laurel & Hardy discs from Kinowelt.

Anything with Charley for Home DVD is a welcome surprise. Will Movie Night (1929) be on the Home DVD?

It will have to be something done by RHI or from Europe to get Movie Night. It's an extra on this German Laurel & Hardy DVD.

And LIMOUSINE LOVE is included as an extra on this Kinowelt L&H volume:

http://www.amazon.de/Laurel-Hardy-Dick- ... 344&sr=8-2" target="_blank

Extremely nice print, fine music score, overdone foley effects. It'll do until a proper set of the copyrighted Chase silents is released.

Let me add my two cents. The new site is very nice.
