Does the monthly fee include their entire network of channels (there was mention of at least one other channel offering "classics"), or is it $5/month for the silent channel alone?

I contacted DigiDev and asked them to respond to your questions. They have plans to make their program, including The Silent Channel, more attractive to consumers; however, since they are a public company and have not yet made any announcement, they cannot disclose them yet, especially on a news-making site like Nitrateville!

As to the particular future of The Silent Channel, DigiDev will be starting with our substantial backlog of Image Entertainment and Flicker Alley releases. If (hopefully when) those provide an income stream sufficient to justify the cost, we will dig into our huge iunventory of films that have never been on home video (through us, anyway -- Grapevine and others have harvested much of what Blackhawk restored and sold, even if only in 8mm) and we will prepare nice editions from our good negatives and fine grains.

Will there eventually be an app for smart televisions?

I've been signed up for this site and, although I appreciate the great films there, they are all ones that were previously available elsewhere (like on DVD or Netflix, etc.) and I've already seen all that I wanted to. I haven't noticed any new films being added, so I'm going to end up cancelling my membership, even though it's only $5/month. Maybe they decided it wasn't "a go".
