LANAS SAN ANDRES (1964)

Last Saturday, Juan Gujis presented in his TV wool commercial show this classic 1964 ad by Manuel García Ferré. The version he showed was in full screen and color, but that was not the way audiences saw the commercial at the time.

And this is this is color version that people were able to see in 1964:

The effects seem to work better in color, especially in the beginning. But either way, what a cute, lively commercial this is -- I had to watch it several times, it was over much too soon!

I had previously brought this other García Ferré cartoon commercial, made one year later. It is in color but it is not framed for the movie screen. Still the use of color is terrific (I repaired the soundtrack) and is even better than almost anything made in Argentina in color at that time.
