Christmas Past in Old Hollywood

Post by bobfells » Fri Nov 23, 2012 8:53 pm

Please visit our new post for the holidays at OLD HOLLYWOOD IN COLOR at the link below. This time the focus is wide ranging from Seasons Greetings by President Franklin Roosevelt, Christmas tunes by Glenn Miller and his Orchestra, Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney doing unscripted commentary at the 1940 Christmas Parade on Hollywood Boulevard, Lionel Barrymore as a WWII Scrooge who won't buy War Bonds (with Fredric March), Jack Benny as another type of Scrooge in his 1938 Christmas show, and Madame Ernestine Schumann-Heink singing "Silent Night" just as she used to do exactly at the stroke of Midnight on December 25th. With that variety, there's GOT to be something you'll like!
