Ford Taunus "Persecución" (1983)

Yesterday I went to the movies and before the trailers they played a lousy commercial from Ford. So bad was that commercial that this one from 1983 is still the masterpiece that it was at the time (I remember eagerly waiting the TV stations to repeat it once more).

Great commercial!
I find it interesting that Ford sold this model in Argentina under the name "Taunus". That's what it was called in Germany, too, but here people knew that the Taunus is a fairly unimpressive range of German hills. In Britain this 70s and 80s stalwart was sold as the Ford Cortina. My dad had several Taunus. Not bad cars for the time with a lot of oomph from their dinky 2 litre six cylinder engines.

My mom had a Taunus too, but the previous model which was notably different. Today, Ford have more or less revived the brand with a slight change, the model is called "Taurus".
