Ignore the above image- in a later, 1930s, Columbia short, Charley has nothing on his mind- not even women....
After watching the new Charley Chase collection, we got to wondering if his The Mind Needer.
might not be viewed as one of the earliest "Alzheimer" films (though the disease had not been "discovered" yet).
His character's forgetfulness was not due to drink, a stroke, age-hardened arteries, or a "bonk on the head."
And Chase's depiction went far beyond the standard "absent minded professor" spoofery.
Are there earlier such films, or better examples?
