Unidentified French 9.5mm two-reel comedy

Post by silentfilm » Tue Feb 12, 2013 7:49 am

Someone from France posted this on Facebook today, saying that they have a 9.5mm print of this but it has no titles or credits. The titles are in French, but it looks like an American two-reel comedy. If anyone can identify it or the actors, I'll pass the information along.

Not sure of which, but it looks like one of the Collegians series from Universal. Guessing from the name, I think it might be Splash Mates.

The character's name (from one of the titles) fits: http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0107938/
In silent film, no-one can hear you scream.

Definitely Collegians, Definitely not SPLASH MATES (that one's about speed boats). Most likely SPLASHING THROUGH (1927), or might be PADDLING COEDS (1928). I have a number of these, and I think I have a print of SPLASHING THROUGH, but will have to dig for it and take a look.
