Ford Falcon (1982)

Post by radiotelefonia » Thu May 02, 2013 10:18 pm

The Ford Falcon was brought to Argentina in 1961 and it began to be sold the following year with jazz music. By 1964, the model suffered alteration in the United States while in Argentina the original design was always preserved. And since that year, the model began to be fully identified with the country. In the seventies, JWT replaced the jazz scores with tangos with excellent results.

In 1982 Ford introduced the sixth and final restyling of the Falcon making it more in tone with our contemporary cars. The newer Falcon was so successful that the following year became the best selling car for the seventh and final time in its 30 year history in Argentina.

Ford never managed to top these records again and the Falcon was finally discontinued in 1991, although the Falcon kept improving up until the end. The design was reused for the Crown Victoria, with some alterations, and if Fiat has relaunched a model from the 50s it is quite possible that the Falcon will return in the future.

This commercial is terrific and the score by Adolfo Adámoli is terrific as well as the bandoneon performance by Daniel Binelli. Compared to any contemporary commercial on television, this is a masterpiece:
