THE MARY CARLISLE MYSTERY

Post by Hal Erickson » Fri May 10, 2013 7:46 pm

In the 3rd volume of Richard Lamparski's WHATEVER BECOME OF... (1970)--PAGE 203 to be exact--he writes of actress Mary Carlisle, who is still alive.
Here's the quote: "Mary's mother became the second wife of the late steel magnate Henry J. Kaier...
The eminent musical historian Miles Kreuger recently called me in hopes that my ties with my former employer All-Rovi Guide will help to rectify this error.
Mary's mother did NOT, repeat did NOT, marry Henry J. Kaiser.
Thanks to the redoubtable Mr. Lamparski, this misinformation has been repeated everywhere including Wikipedia.
As a favor to Mr. Kreuger, I have promised to try to have this removed from as many sources as possible.
Can ya help me out there?

BTW: Mary Carlisle is not 101 years old. She was born in 1914, so she's mere tot of 99.

She looks great too, she came to Hollywood Heritage's Salute to the Hollywood Canteen at the Hollywood American Legion Wednesday, giving a short reminiscence.
