Ford Falcon (1987)

This was the last commercial ever for the Falcon on television, except for an appearance in an institutional commercial from Ford made two years later. While not remotely as spectacular as the first one from 1962, this is creativity as its best. They almost don't need to show the car and it is still effective. While the sales of Falcons drop a lot in 1986, Ford did not really want to discontinue its manufacturing at the time and Ford tried to keep it going until it was discontinued in 1991.

The Crown Victoria, which I still see in the Boston streets, took a lot from the Falcon. I would love Ford to resurrect the model... Volkswagen has gone back to the roach and Fiat to the Topolino (or Fitito for us). While in Australia it is still manufactured, the model has suffered constant changes and it has never been the same car since 1967; the real Falcon is this one.

I was really fortunate to be able to ride in a Ford Falcon for many years.
