The best tango shows are those that were produced in black and white before 1980. Sadly, almost all of them are lost because the TV stations either disposed of the tapes or simply reused them for other purposed. But when something reappears it is always moving. The family of Miguel Angel Manzi, who had a tango show in Uruguay, have been posting what they have preserved... worn and damaged tapes and making mistakes uploading them to YouTube. But I was able to restore one of them after years of neglect from an entire industry.

Here is the opening of a 1972 show with the Astor Piazzolla quintet performing live Verano Porteño... it is impressive that it was photographed with a single camera shot.
