Creature From the Black Lagoon 3D 1954 Richard Carlson

Post by Nosferatu » Sat Aug 31, 2013 9:28 am

Anyone ever see this in 3D? Also, I can't tell if this release is the old 3D or the type for the 3D televisions:

http://www.amazon.com/Creature-Lagoon-B ... +lagoon+3d" target="_blank

Thanks for your help.

This movie was reissued on DVD at least once before, in 2001 by Something Weird Video, as part of a "Spook Show Spectacular" package. I thought it was good and Carlson was suitably tormented, but it was nothing to write home about.

However, I will admit that the ending was suitably creepy -- it's amazing what you can accomplish with just a little seaweed!! SETH
Please don't call the occasional theatrical release of an old movie a "reissue." We do not say "The next time you go to the Louvre, you will see a re-issue of the Mona Lisa.” -- Cecil B. DeMille

Oh, thanks, I didn't know about that release. I'll look into that. One day I'll become experts like you folks.

This disc is for the new 3D-capable televisions and was just released this year. It's also included in the Universal Monsters blu-ray box .

Please don't overwrite the initial post, rendering replies unintelligible. A new post would be in order.

The Blu-ray box set disc of 'Creature will play in a 2D player (I checked). The 3D version is an extra on the disc, but the 3D version is only playable on 3D capable TV's and Blu-ray players. The picture on the above link states "includes both 3D and 2D versions," so it's likely the same disc as in the box set.

I watched the new Blu-ray of CFtBL in 3D on a friend's 60" plasma screen fairly recently, looks pretty amazing. Much better than the 3D that you get in theatres these days. (He's got the electronic glasses that have to be charged via USB.)
