OK. I have not been good about putting listings up with various silent film programs I am booking . There is a program of mixed silent shorts which has been showing for a year and a new program of all Chaplin for the Centennial and here are some dates

2/28 Detroit Film Theater. This is relatively new indie venue and they would LOVE to show more silent films. This program will include the Lobster restoration of THE IMMIGRANT as well as MIGHTY LIKE A MOOSE, Melies , Felix the Cat. Here is link to monthly program http://cinemadetroit.com/" target="_blank" target="_blank

3/28 Santa MonicaAero Theater( Los Angeles CInematheque venue). All Chaplin shorts

4/5 n 3 Oaks MI Vickers theater All Chaplin shorts

4/12 Chicago -Music Box theater All Chaplin shorts

Will try to keep folks updated in a more timely fashion. Yes these are all DCP. GIve it a try. I know Chicago and Santa Monica will have live music, Detroit will use scores on film and not 100% on Vickers

Good to see Vickers on the list. They're a small but nice arthouse theatre about half an hour from me. They used to have a 3-day silent festival in the summer, but stopped a few years ago...glad that they're doing silents again.

I was just in Three Oaks today thinking about them. Almost tempted to see it there, though the fact that I'm half a mile from the Music Box makes that pretty illogical. Anyway, looking forward to it.

You could go to both Mike. There is about 5 hours of film with 20 shorts so it is unlikely any venue will do the same program. I generally encourage them to show KID AUTO RACES and THE IMMIGRANT and pick what they like from the rest.

I may turn up at Vickers, unless we have a couple of blizzards that day.

Darn, I missed this one! One small correction for those not from Detroit - Cinema Detroit is NOT the Detroit Film Theater. The Detroit Film Theater is located at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Sorry about the confusion. This is their first booking but FYI show is not for 11 days so you have not missed it

Thanks for pointing that out Jessica! I just checked my schedule and I'm working that evening and it's unlikely I can get out of it.

I'll just have to wait for the home video release of THE IMMIGRANT.

Tell your friends to go. If it works out well they could show more silents.
Thanks
