Idle thought: Movie -> Selfie

It occurred to me that there is linguistic similarity in the century-apart development of the terms "movie" and "selfie". Both started as common slang terms, a short 2-syllable word with the first syllable of the originating term and "ie" as the second syllable.
moving picture = movie
self picture = selfie
