I'll re-phrase it, why not an NTSC version in addition to PAL version?

Same with Ann Harding's The Fountain. There's a PAL R2 release in Europe and that's it. Although it does have an English track (the one I bought is in Spanish), it's still PAL R2. Luckily I liked it when I watched it after some "conversions."

It makes a change from all the hundreds of NTSC only titles out there!

You can overcome the problem by downloading VLC Media Player on your computer. It can play any kind of DVD.

I realize you are talking about a "DVD", which are either PAL or NTSC, but doesn't this problem go away with BluRay. It was my understanding that the High Definition standard was universal, the only difference was different regions, in region coded discs?

I thought everyone used VLC nowadays, but for those who don't, you're missing out! It's a pretty robust piece of software and so very handy. I have DVDs from every zone and can play almost everything through VLC.

I can't believe you Yanks still don't buy multi-regional blu-ray players?????? It was the first issue atop my list when I went on line to buy a blu-ray player; that it HAD to be multi-regional. I can play any region at all; so I have no worries about where in the world my blu-rays or DVD's come from.
