HEARTS OF THE WORLD (1918)

Alpha Video just released a title that I am anxious to see: D.W.Griffith's HEARTS OF THE WORLD (1918). Does anyone know what kind of score is used for this issue? Sometimes Alpha has some good accompaniment, other times not so good.

For $3.99 + shipping [current special price at Oldies.com http://www.oldies.com/product-view/7352D.html], does it really make any difference? At that price, if you hate the score after you've seen it, you can donate it to the local library and not feel any great financial pain and get a tax write off to boot.

Danny , you got to admit that Alpha, for better or worse, has some great box covers some digitally reinstituted from original lobby posters. I love it.
Lately they've been releasing some great or hard-to-find stuff. Even DW Griffith's 1922 ONE EXCITING NIGHT has finally made it to a DVD that's easily purchasable. I hope it's the nice print once hawked on IOffer.com, which I think came from a guy in Europe. Not sure though. But here is a list of some recent releases:

Film Detective have been doing above-average releases of PD film titles for a while now. I recently got their BD-R release of the oddball Roger Corman/Boris Karloff title The Terror, and it's the best I've come across to date. Given the films they're dealing with, and the sources they have to work with, I'm guessing the quality varies from release to release, but I'd buy from them again.

The "Film Detective" offers what they call a "Restored" version of Steamboat Bill, Jr.. It sells for $9 on Amazon. I wonder what the "restoration" means above the version available from Archive.org that is selling for $9?

I have pre-ordered The Bat, which is a Blu-Ray release upcoming from the Film Detective. That likely had more done to it.
