Larry Semon photo question
A couple of year's ago on ebay I came across a press photo of an ill Larry Semon taking a train to a sanitarium in Victorville. It was the outside of the train car, but you could see Larry looking pretty ghostly through the window. I tried to save and grab an image of it but the software wouldn't let me. Just wondering if anybody else saw it, and even more did anyone get an image of it. Thanks.
Re: Larry Semon photo question
Hi Steve, the photo you describe sounds like the one that Claudia Sassen won at eBay some years back. I'm sure she'll be using it in her forthcoming biography on Larry Semon. If you want her email address (although a google search will lead you to her), let me know.

A forthcoming biography from Larry Semon? Too good to be true, just when I thought that no-one's interested in Larry. But I'm still waiting for a dvd collection...

Murnau...
There's been talk of the inclusion of a special DVD with the Larry Semon book.
Claudia and her filmography co-author, Patrick Skacel, have amassed an amazing film collection over the years and have considered including some of the best of the rarer footage. I wish I was able to include a DVD with the release of my Ben Turpin biography last year!
Thanks for the Looser Than Loose link, Joe.

Re: Larry Semon photo question
It would be nice to have a BILLY BEVAN and a SNUB POLLARD bios also, as well as profesionally produced DVDs from their best work. Of course I already have the LOOSER THAN LOOSE Snub & Marie and all non-profesionally made Bevan DVDs that have circulated, and the very few sparse films on technically better compilations. But with the exceptions of the latter ones, image quality is often sad, and their best films certainly merit being treated as the classics they are.

Re: Larry Semon photo question
I saw a newspaper on eBay about 10 years ago showing a picture of Larry arriving in Victorville by train. I remember it was a picture of Larry sitting in his train seat through the train window. He looked very old and he was holding a little paper bag in his hands. I saved the picture and lost a few days later in a computer crash.
I am convinced Larry died of lung cancer.
Dr. Sassen's book mentions Larry losing some employees because of Joe Rock. Does anyone know what happened with Joe?
