Hi All,
Brand new here, so I apologize if I'm in the wrong spot, or this isnt allowed.
I have been given a collection of 8mm, Super-8mm and a couple 16mm films & Projectors. I have read a ton, but dont know much about them.
Most are blackhawk, but there are quite a few others. They were owned by an old guy who lives near me that was a fox studios carpenter or something. All sorts of titles, Chaplin, Keaton, etc. I don't know what they are, but I wondered if I could get advice on value, or how to sell them? I collect other things so I know about wanting them in a good home. I am happy to list everything and post pictures if appropriate.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Help with Collection?
Re: Help with Collection?
I don't know where you are located. I'm guessing by the Fox studios carpenter that you're in LA. You might want to find an experienced collector in your area who would take a look at your stuff and give an opinion. It's kind of hard to do online.

Thanks Jim, that's what I thought, hope I didn't piss off the veterans here with a much repeated question.
Can I post a list photos here, just to get opinions? Can members contact me if they have an interest? Don't want to violate the board rules.....Thanks!

Re: Help with Collection?
I live in a very dry climate, in central Oregon. The Guy put what appear to be catalog descriptions on most of them. (pic included) He said he “sold all the good stuff” and to put up a sheet and have fun. I collect comics and other stuff and never got to it after one attempt.

Re: Help with Collection?
You might want to check ebay to see what kind of money what you have brings. Find the film category and then search for that title in the format you have. Be sure to check the COMPLETED auctions so you see not just what people are asking for, but also what people are paying.

Re: Help with Collection?
Most of your titles are not particularly rare on Super 8 (or other formats) but there are still people who collect the format. Besides ebay, you could post on http://8mmforum.film-tech.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php" target="_blank" target="_blank, a collectors message board for collectors of 16mm and 8mm films.
