Leo Maloney's Skyland Studio

Post by Bruce Long » Thu Oct 09, 2014 6:03 am

Between 1925-1929 Leo Maloney had his own studio in the San Bernardino Mountains, named Skyland Studio. According to trade press, the studio included 50 buildings and "every comfort for the 35 people who dwell there all year round." This was the entrance:

Has anyone seen any photos taken there showing a lot of the behind-the-scenes studio personnel? If so, please post or advise where they could be found. Thanks.

You should probably check with Marc Wanamaker and Bison Archives, since he has been trying to compile an encyclopedia of every film studio known to exist. He's on vacation right now, and won't return until early November.
