New Vintage Movie Channel on Broadcast TV

It's called Grit, and it looks like films that cater to men. Some westerns
and military movies. "Television with Backbone" is its slogan.

Sounds a bit like one over here in Britain, 'Movies for Men', which features post-1950s war movies and westerns, but with a nice sprinkling of b/w British crime movies, including quite a few second-features which have been long unavailable.

And such a provocative title incited no feminist backlash directed at advertisers? Here, I suspect it would.

Without a doubt, in addition to discrimination lawsuits against the station and sponsors. Oy, what a country.

I doubt "Movies for Men" would cause much of an uproar. Lifetime channel was billed as "Television for Women" for many years and I don't recall any stink being raised. Spike TV was promoted as the first TV channel for men when it started. No controversy.

I notice now on seeing it for a little more time that it's not exclusively
focused on Vintage movies, as Get.tv pretty much is (at least pre-1970s).

Do these stations come up on cable, too? It would be easy to get them
in addition to one's cable set up, with an old additional tv and an antenna.
