Peter Pan
One of the best silent films for the whole family, this magical production of Peter Pan is true to both letter and spirit of Barrie’s nursery tale. In this 1924 unsung masterpiece of early cinema, Mary Bronson stars as Peter with George Ali giving a masterclass as Nana the dog. The movie features a brand new score by Phillip Carli that was recently premiered by Maestro Trevor.

Re: Columbia, MO: PETER PAN (1924)
I posted an announcement of this event back in May, but by now it's near the bottom of the list. Philip Carli, composer of the score and staff film accompanist at Eastman House, was in attendance. He originally scored the film for 15-piece orchestra, and that's the version he premiered at Pordenone in 1993. Our local conductor, Kirk Trevor, asked Carli to score the music for full orchestra, and Trevor premiered that version at the Indianapolis Museum of Art's silent series last year. Last night's performance here in Columbia was the second performance of that version. More here, from our local paper: http://www.columbiatribune.com/arts_lif ... fb32b.html
