Grapevine Upgrades ROMOLA (1924)

Post by bobfells » Fri Sep 18, 2015 5:33 pm

Grapevine Video announced today that it has upgraded its DVD release of ROMOLA (1924) - "upgrades with a new high quality digital transfer for better picture quality!" Purchasers of the previous edition (like me) should contact Jason Hardy at Grapevine to obtain a code for a discount on the new edition.

They also listed that they just upgraded "The Canadian" which I had on my most recent Grapevine order....and watched (the wonderful) film last week-end.

How does the upgraded version compare to the old? The old version received a pretty mediocre review from SilentEra.com.

To me, a high quality score is of greater importance than a high quality transfer.

George Eliot's literary executor should have sued to have her name removed from the title credit; unless "adapted" can be construed to mean "turned end for end and inside out."
