None Shall Escape (1944)

Post by Brooksie » Wed Nov 02, 2016 4:26 pm

It seems that the Cinecon screening of Columbia's None Shall Escape (1944) has brought new interest to the film, and rightly so, it's an impressive work. This history of its production, release and reception is worth reading.

If you couldn't make Cinecon, like most of us, it seems that NONE SHALL ESCAPE is not easy to find anywhere. Happily, an excellent looking print has been sitting on Youtube since April:

The same is true of so many Columbia films of the 40s, unfortunately. There are plenty that are impossible to track down even on the grey market, and compared to Warner Archive, Sony's Choice Collection leaves a lot to be desired.

It's run on TCM, which is the source of the YouTube post...
