A V Bramble 1884 - 1963

Post by earlytalkiebuffRob » Tue Aug 07, 2018 1:56 pm

Watching the 1928 SHOOTING STARS, which gave sole directing credit to A V Bramble, I wondered how much of his work had survived. An actor as well, there seems to be a huge break between THE VETERAN OF WATERLOO (1933) (director) and his last credit, AN OUTCAST OF THE ISLANDS (actor) in 1951.

Was also interested to find out we share the same birthplace, Portsmouth, England.

Most of Bramble's silent material appears lost but surprisingly there are some early one in the archives. He seems to have little listed after 1930 and one 1932 film lists as not in the archives. Shooting Stars is a good one.
