Ken Berry, a leading tv star of the 1960's and 1970's died two days ago. He was all over tv in the era - starring in F TROOP and MAYBERRY RFD and in the 1980's costarring in MAMA's FAMILY (his best role IMO as the dim-witted Vint). I happened to pull out a Carol Burnett Show "extras" dvd set last night and happened to noticed there was an interview with him (filmed earlier this decade, I believe) and he talked not only about TCBS but his career - a full half-hour interview, didn't know Carol was so instrumental in launching his career.

KEN BERRY (1933-2018)
Re: KEN BERRY (1933-2018)
One of the obits for Bob Einstein (aka Super Dave; brother of Albert Brooks and son of Parkyakarkus) noted that he wrote for the KEN BERRY "WOW" SHOW, a program I hadn't thought about for four decades.Harlowgold wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 4:52 pmKen Berry, a leading tv star of the 1960's and 1970's died two days ago. Hmm ... an opening theme song that references Anna May Wong. That rates a "Wow!" from me at least.

RIP. Definitely a household name growing up in the 70s. He disappeared completely from public work after around 1993, according to Wiki.

Re: KEN BERRY (1933-2018)
One scene I always remembered was in F Troop when Ken Berry, as the clumsy Captain Parmenter, is reading a letter, and so oblivious to the world around him that he goes though a hilarious series of near disastrous pratfalls around the fort, all the while landing on his feet. I couldn't find the clip on Youtube but I did find the interview where Berry speaks about it (starting about 1:20) and about how he planned it with the producers and prop people, using his dance training for physical comedy.
As is turns out, Berry knew Buster Keaton and Keaton called him the day after the show and said "That was a good gag you did"!

I never knew that he danced this well:
