Juan D'Arienzo in 1982

In 1980 the TV station run by the Federal Government that it is known today as Televisión Pública Argentina began to co-produce a series of LP records with RCA Victor and CBS. The channel, then known as ATC although for many of us it is always going to be Channel 7, provided promotion for the records.

This is the very first commercial of such records that ever surfaced online and, also, the very first commercial available for a real tango LP. Juan D'Arienzo had died 6 years before this compilation disc of some of his most famous instrumental recordings. This is also sad because is among the extremely few things that we can see of D'Arienzo on television because, despite movie appearances and RCA Victor discs from 1934 up to 1976, most of what he actually did in the medium was disposed as garbage.
