"My Movie Girl" 1913 sheet music question. Power's Cameragraph.

Post by Darren Nemeth » Sun Mar 10, 2019 12:54 am

Here is a sheet music that was apparently sent out to theatre management by the Power's Cameragraph projector company. My Movie Girl from 1913.

I cant seem to find out much about this sheet or song, although my internet has been wavering the past week.

Has anyone else seen an example like this of a movie theatre equipment company sending out complimentary sheet-music?

Also, can you tell me more about this song? I cant find much on it or a recording to hear.

This is on eBay right now. Item #303089697409. I don't know the seller or am the seller. (The starting price of $95.99 plus shipping is far too high for me to bid on it. )

Motography, Christmas, 1913, offers this tidbit:
Bill Barry is mailing out attractive copies of the Nicholas Power Company song, "My Movie Girl." Credit for the words and music is given to G. Warren Landon and S. S. Cassard and the waltz chorus looks as though it would be a good "everybody's whistling it " melody.

In 1911 the Champion Film Company was offering sheet music for The Red Devils but I don't think they were a projector company.
