Berklee Silent Film orchestra / Joan of Arc

^what do people think of these and many many other "new" scores composed by modern musicians for silent films?

As long as they're not done by the Tiger Lillies I'm all for them. It's not like every neighborhood theater wouldn't have had variant soundtracks based on the instrument[s] available, the quality and quantity of musicians, and their slavishness to the music cue sheets, if there even were any.

That said, these folks have a steep road ahead of them to beat the Voices of Light score for Joan.

I've enjoyed a couple of the Berklee scores I've heard, most particularly for THE LAST LAUGH. As for new scores, well, it's all in the ear of the beholder.
