Hi!
These "Silent Hall of Fame" guys, who usually take prints from EYE, etc, have a DVD with a print of Olive Thomas' "An Even Break" (1917) from what seems to be a nitrate print (given the five-minute except they put on youtube). Anyone knows which is the source from that print? Is it available somewhere else?
Thanks for letting me know
Martin

Portions of An Even Break were featured in Dawson City: Frozen in Time (1916), so the clip could be taken from that documentary. The film does not survive complete, as it is missing a reel.

Nice print of Olive Thomas but with such sad, melodramatic acting, I'd never want to watch this, even if it was complete.
I wish Olive Thomas could have responded more like a 'Clara Bow' character and encouraged the girl to smile.
The only smile, is the still of Olive before watching the clip.
