The End Of Goldensilents.com
It is with much regret that I must announce that Goldensilents.com will cease to exist at midnight 7/16/2020!
I kept it going after buying the domain name and site from Jill Bondurant several years ago. I spent a considerable amount of money to renew the domain name and pay the fees for the site hosting service over the years.
It was not an easy decision to make. But, I am retired and my pension and Social Security income yearly increases. Have not kept up with my increased cost of living expenses.
I hope everyone understands,
Uncle Claude

Sorry to hear that. My web hosting charges $8 a month. I think that the domain name is a fixed cost. But I understand that there is more than just a cost issue in keeping it going.

May I ask what hosting company you use? I'm in need of some right now. Been too busy to look and compare, but $8 a month sounds pretty good. Thanks.silentfilm wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 4:09 pmSorry to hear that. My web hosting charges $8 a month. I think that the domain name is a fixed cost. Ionos also has a $5 a month plan if you don't need e-commerce.

Re: The End Of Goldensilents.com
It is time for that site to die. I don't think anyone visits that site anymore.
I cannot see the purpose of spending money on a site that is not used.
I know that Jill Bondurant put a lot of work into creating Golden Silents.
But when Jill fell on hard times financially. She ASKED ME to buy the site! I paid her $2,500.00 for the Domain Name. It was overpriced. But I felt sorry for her.
R. Michael Pyle, if you read this message. You may want to pass the word to Jill. I know that the 2 of you are/were very good friends.

If you can’t keep updating the site, there is no reason for people to keep visiting, so I understand.

I was just googling the internet. Someone bought it for $2,005.00 back in July!
