Dante's Inferno 1917?

Post by DavidWelling » Wed Nov 04, 2020 12:28 pm

I am reading Big U: Universal in the Silent Days by I.G. Edmunds (1977). It makes a reference to a version of Dante's Inferno in 1917 with Grace Cunard and Francis Ford I can find no other reference to this, even in the LoC database. Instead, I find listings for the 1924 and Italian versions. A picture credited to Cunard's personal collection is included with a man in a top hat and it definitely is not from either of those two other versions. Does anyone know any more about this? Might it be an error?

I can find few reliable references to it either, but note that the LoC database only covers features. If it was a serial or short, it would not be in there.
