As usual, there's a glaring error in the story. I expect that Nitratevillains will know that Limelight was not Chaplin's final finished film, and that he finished two more.

Fantastic! Thank you for sharing this news. I wouldn't have known otherwise. I've always wanted to read this script from when I first heard about it (as well as the script for Alfred Hitchcock's final, scripted, yet unproduced film).

Interesting news, thanks for posting. I remember hearing about this project while Chaplin was still living. I wondered if he'd have one more credit to his name. Based on the results with A Countess from Hong Kong perhaps it's best it was never realized. That said, it's too bad he didn't attempt to film this story at an earlier stage of his life.

Hitchcock’ last script, The Short Night, was included in David Freeman’s book, The Last Days of Alfred Hitchcock. It’s a fascinating read.
