She was at least 16 years older than we thought she was. Thats an acting performance. But I remember her as '..Miss Jane Pitman and watching it on tv back in the 70s. Perhaps a thinly disguised Harriett Tubman story but captivating. It sort of primed you for Roots a few years later.RIP Cicely.

What a wonderful actress, .... MISS JANE PITTMAN surely has to be one of the five best tv movies ever, possibly the best. RIP.

I think she was publicized as being born in 1932 for decades, like several classic era actresses (Shirley Booth, Jean Arthur, Irene Dunne, Greer Garson among them), she confessed to being older in her later years or somebody discovered the truth and they didn't deny it.
